Shilpa Shetty has earned respect for showing the strength to return to her normal life post her husband’s arrest. She has been gracing the sets of the dance reality show, Super Dancer Chapter 4, as she is one of the judges in it - after a break. And she began Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on a happy note on Wednesday.

Shilpa Shetty celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with a lot of fanfare every year. She brings Lord Ganesha home and rings in the 11-day festival with her family. In spite of the controversy her husband is currently embroiled in, Shilpa kept up with the ritual, and began the festivities as she brought home the Ganpati idol.

Shilpa was photographed as she brought home her Ganpati idol. She was seen carrying the idol as she exchanged pleasantries with the paparazzi.

Later in the day, Shilpa Shetty earned more respect as she rushed to Akshay Kumar's residence to pay her condolences on his mother's demise. She was clicked by a few paps as she made her way to Akshay's home.

Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia died due to age related ailments on Wednesday morning, after which the superstar informed his fans and followers of the tragic news on his social media accounts. He said his mother has now reunited with his father in the other world. He wrote, "She was my core. And today, I feel an unbearable pain at the core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."


Akshay's friends and colleagues from the film industry attended the last rites. His wife Twinkle Khanna, brother-in-law Karan Kapadia, actor Riteish Deshmukha, friend Sajid Khan, filmmaker Rohit Shetty and producer Ramesh Taurani among others were in attendance.

Later in the day, Akshay's friends Shilpa Shetty and John Abraham visited his residence to pay their condolences.
